Jackals of Democracy

Crawling over the dead warm bodies
Picking over mounds of wallets
Talking about feeding the hungry
With the spoils of the class war they fomented
Laughing in the darkness with out reason
In the craziness of the moment
Shooting the last victim in the head
Prying the treasure from her soft fingers
The change trickles from her body

M.S.Morrison

I Know

Watch out  for the seamless hole
From the explicit to the implicit
The deep reality
The comforting unity
Of ignorant bliss

M.S. Morrison

WHEN WE LEFT EARTH

When we left Earth
We left for good
For the good we left
To do good and the other things

We lived - We died… together
We gathered for tomorrows storm
In the twilights last gleaming

NOT MUCH TIME

Time leaves no essence in her wake
She dreams of places far away
She comes and goes but does not stay
As if to say
Not much time.

M.S. Morrison

With Molten Blast

There is a wasteland
Where roses won’t grow

A wanton place
Where feelings never go

A pathway turned to dust

Filled with hollow memories
Of anger and lust

Where on the ground
Lie seeds cast without
Loves soft concern

Where the best of dreams never last

As the fires of indecision burn
With molten blast.

MY HOMELAND

Green Pastures on hillsides for miles and miles
Green Pastures on hillsides for miles and miles
Green Pastures on hillsides for miles and miles

Coming of age

I just don’t care
I am listless indolent and its Grey outside
I need to get a groove on
Need to feel better
I don’t want to think about it
Don’t want to need it anymore
Just want to be myself
And I just don’t care

A Meditation on Kindness

Be of Service
Keep the business on purpose
Connect with the source of the customer's happiness
Provide goodness in what you offer
Focus on happiness
Are your customers happy with your service?
Have you delighted a customer today?
Hire happy friendly people
Look for happy friendly customers
Elevate the human experience
Be happy for you're self

Be Kind
Be Kindness
Put ego in the background
Perpetrate random acts of kindness
Be a kindness subversive
Create an energy field of kindness
Create a world of kindness
A village of kindness
A company of kindness
Create a feeling of belonging
For both staff and customers
Weld them together in trust
Build a circle of kindness among your selves

Feel Good
Open up now
Learn to love
The sun is always shining behind the clouds
Respect you're self
Trust you're self
Love you're self
Don't put labels on other people
True nobility is about being better that you used to be
Beauty is in you
Find the beauty in you and in others
Beauty is truth
Beauty will set you free
Find beauty every where you go

Be a genius
Be humble
Look for the genius in others
Do not deny yourself what you wish to give others
Do not deny what is right
Stand up for the fight
Be there now
Be simple
Be plain

Produce abundance
Tell people stories that inspire
There is nothing missing from an abundance
Are you receptive to people
Send love Send kindness
Be the kind of person you want to attract
Then the universe will conspire with you
To make your dreams come true

Be a channel
For all the energy of the universe
See you're people as whole
As complete
Be the power of your own intentions
Be kind to everyone
You will instill calmness
Breed peace
Breed peace
Change the energy of the planet now
Want more for others than for your selves
Think from the end
The beginning is what you create
The end is found at the source
You are not what you have
You cannot resolve what you condemn

P.S. BLAH BLAH BLAH
Will Time Survive

When I die
Take fast
Sail me to forever

Time will be my child
Life will be today

No words
Will time survive
But love

M.S. Morrison

BRAND NEW DAY

I have tried so hard
To say every thing
But time has caught me

I've stayed awake against harm
Taken good from what was burned
Stood against  the evil I have seen
Been a man when men were weak

God helped me when I was down
Reached out a hand to save the good he found

Sometimes he left me alone
In the quiet of the dark
Then showed me a brand new way
He showed me a brand new day

TODAY

Today the stock market soared
I woke up and there was no war
I fell in love all over again
My preacher said there was no sin
Tomorrow is another day
I sure hope it stays this way

M.S. Morrison

Tomorrow After Tomorrow

I don’t have time for verse and rhyme
I d rather speak plain
I don’t wish to entertain

My life is mine
No freedom better lived
Tomorrow wanes
Today the same
So now I say
What power is in yesterday

And welcome tomorrow’s morn

Mugged before the prom by Mr. O

She was the chosen leader of the senior class
A Northern girl of Southern means
Her future tied to a promising past
She was popular and had big dreams
They all loved her and thought she was great
Until there came a change

One by one her friends stopped by to say
We really loved you yesterday
But Mr. O has come to town
He’s so popular and we have found
He’s more popular than you
So we must go and join the crowd

Then the whispering began
Should she show up at the prom
Should she yield to Mr. O
He’s so beautiful and she' s…
So…well you know

Later there were torches
There was fire on her front lawn
And to this day no one knows where she has
gone

M. S. Morrison

And  Do Something Good

I lost everything in the fire
That burned down my childhood
The memories keep creeping in
I don’t let them push the joy out of life
Or of living.

Sometimes I smell an acrid smoke in my room
So I start looking for the ashes of what might
have been
But I can never find them
Can they find me?

Tomorrow I will get up
Tomorrow I will get up
Tomorrow I will get up
And do something good

M.S. Morrison

On Sally

Sally’s looking at some Rembrandt’s
Through her Polaroid’s

She thinks the paintings are like fancy toys

She likes talking out loud
About what the picture cost
About how much time Rembrandt spent

What a talent lost
On Sally
